Hopefully not, but technically summer is over and it’s time to winterize the pool.  *Sigh*

 

Anyhoo, here are a few steps to winterize your pool:

  1. Check yo self!  Check your chemical levels and test the pH.  It should be around 7.3.
  2. So fresh and so clean clean.  Scrub that pool and get it squeaky clean!
  3. Down to the filter Clean the filter (see blog post for cleaning your sand filter)
  4. Shock and roll.  Add the shock then the winterizing algaecide, just not at the same time 😉
  5. How low can you go.  Lower the water level by backwashing
  6. Get outta here!  Remove equipment and accessories.  Replace the eyeball with a plug.
  7. Cover up.  Cover the pool.  Be sure to maintain and remove water that may collect on the cover.
