It Ain’t Easy Being Green

A green, algae filled pool is no bueno and we are here to the rescue!

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you clear up your pool:

Make sure your ladder is pulled out and cleaned.  A dirty ladder contributes to the problem.

  1. Eyeballs.  Make sure your eyeball return is always down and to the right.
  2. Go low.  Your pH should be around 7.3-7.4
  3. Swamp Treat.  Add your algae killer.  Use Swamp Treat to treat your swamp.
  4. In Shock!  Triple shock your pool.  Add 3 bags of Shock.
  5. Always brush.  Use a scrub brush to stir up the algae.  Algae gels over so you must scrub to remove it.
  6. Wait it out.  Wait approximately 24 hours to to see clear/blue cloudy water.
  7. Backwash.  Backwash your filter.  *Tip:  A dirtier filter pulls out more dirt.  Put your hand to the filter…if you feel pressure, it’s not dirty enough (8-10 lbs pressure).

*Note:  Algaecide is just a preventative, not used to treat.
