Opening Your Pool with the Frog Leap System
If you closed your pool using the Frog Leap Pool System, opening it in the spring can be a simple and straightforward process. Following these steps will help get your pool clean, balanced, and ready for the swim season.
Note: One Frog Leap system services pools up to 15,000 gallons (approximately a 24-ft round pool or smaller).
Spring Opening Steps
- Remove the winter cover.

Carefully remove the pool cover and clean off any debris before taking it off completely. Allow it to dry before folding and storing it for the season. - Remove winterizing equipment.
Take out the pool pillow or float and reinstall any accessories such as ladders or steps that were removed for the winter. - Reconnect your equipment.
Reattach hoses, reconnect your pump and filter, and reinstall any drain plugs that were removed during winterization. - Refill the pool if needed.
Bring the water level back up to the middle of the skimmer opening. - Start the circulation system.
Turn on the pump and allow the water to circulate. Check for leaks and ensure everything is running properly. - Clean the pool thoroughly.
Brush the pool walls and floor, especially around the waterline, and remove any debris that accumulated during the winter. - Install the Frog Leap Anti-Bac Mineral Pac.
Place the Anti-Bac Mineral Pac into the Infuzer to ensure minerals get into the water. - Add the Frog Leap All-Out.
Insert the All-Out and allow at least 90 minutes for the product to disperse. - Add your Frog Leap Torpedo Pac.
Insert the Torpedo Pac and adjust the control dial to the recommended setting for your pool size.
- Run the pump to allow the system to begin circulating.
Allow several hours of circulation so the minerals and chlorine can begin working throughout the pool. - Test and balance the water.
Check that your pH is between (7.2–7.8), balance your total alkalinity (80–120 ppm) and calcium hardness (200–400 ppm), and confirm proper chlorine levels. - Continue filtering and cleaning as needed.
Vacuum the pool if necessary and keep the pump running regularly during the first few days of opening. - Monitor the system.
Check the Frog Leap system periodically and adjust the dial if needed to maintain proper chlorine levels. - Enjoy your pool!
Once the water is clear and balanced, your pool is ready for swimming and a great season ahead.
