The Benefits of Algaecide & Clarifier

Sometimes your pool can look perfectly fine, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t small problems developing in the water. Algae, tiny particles, and other contaminants can build up over time and eventually lead to cloudy water or an algae bloom.

That’s where products like algaecide and clarifier can help. They’re not meant to replace proper water balance or filtration—they’re tools that can be used alongside your regular maintenance routine to help prevent problems before they become bigger ones.

Algaecide

Algaecide helps prevent and control algae growth. For preventative maintenance, it can generally be used weekly or according to the product label. It can be especially helpful during hot weather, after heavy rain, or when your pool gets a lot of sunlight.

Clarifier

Clarifier helps your filter remove tiny particles that can make your water look dull or cloudy. It can be used as needed, such as when your pool starts looking hazy, or according to the product’s recommended maintenance schedule.

Balance Your Water First

Algaecide and clarifier should not be used as a substitute for proper water balance. Before adding either product, make sure your chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and other important levels are where they need to be.
