Blu Fusion Salt System Tips

What is the Blu Fusion Salt System?

 

The Blu Fusion Salt System is an automated bromine generator that can be installed on your Aspen Spa. It works by converting salt (sodium bromide) into bromine to sanitize your hot tub. 

 

Initial Start-Up

 

  1. Once your Aspen Spa has been delivered, begin filling the tub using the Pure Fill Pro Pre-Filter.
  2. Test and balance the water. 
  3. Once the water temperature is over 92℉, add 1.2 pounds of Tru Blu Sodium Bromide Salt per 100 gallons of water. Allow time to circulate. 
  4. Test the salt level using the Tru Blu Test Strips. The sodium bromide level should be between 1,700-1,800 PPM. 
  5. Add the entire packet of Tru Start Water Clarifier to the spa and allow the water to circulate. 
  6. Refer to the chart in the generator’s manual to set the salt controls.  
  7. Activate bromine by adding .5 oz of oxidizing shock per 100 gallons of water.

 

Weekly Maintenance

 

Test and balance your pH, total alkalinity, and bromine levels every week. If the bromine reading is low, increase the output and retest. If the bromine reading is high, decrease the output and retest. You may also bring a water sample into either Hydra location and we’ll test it for free!

 

Monthly Maintenance 

 

Filters should be cleaned every month to prevent cloudy water. You may use a filter cleaner, or rinse the filter with a hose. It is recommended to let the filters dry naturally to extend the life of the filter. Keeping an extra set of filters on hand will be helpful.

 

Yearly Maintenance

 

You will drain, clean, and refill your hot tub once a year compared to traditional sanitization systems that require you drain your hot tub 3-4 times a year. Not only are you saving on chemicals but also, the cost of water.
